Picture a warm living room full of people who love a good story. That’s the feeling we’re protecting. These house rules cover everything on SnowyPaw: posts, profiles and comments alike.
If you only read one line
Be kind, tell the truth, and share only what’s yours to share. A handy test: if you wouldn’t say it to someone across a table with a mug of cocoa between you, leave it out.
In the comments
A comment should be about the post it sits under. Disagree as much as you like, as long as you do it gently. A moderator reads every guest comment before it’s shown, and anything rude, spammy or wandering off topic simply stays unpublished.
Your words, your pictures
Write things yourself. Short quotes are fine when you say who said them. For images, stick to ones you took, drew or have permission to use. Think a post here borrowed your work without asking? Tell us on the contact page under “Someone copied my work”.
Pointing elsewhere
Links make the web a friendlier place, so go ahead and link to your own site, your sources, or anything your readers will find useful. Two small asks: the link should go where it says it goes, and whatever’s on the other end should be fine under these same rules.
The hard no’s
None of these belong on SnowyPaw, whatever the reason or the framing:
- Illegal content, or helping someone else break the law.
- Harassing, threatening or hateful posts and comments, aimed at anyone at all.
- Posting another person’s private details (a home address, a phone number, private messages) without their say-so.
- Pretending to be a different person or organization.
- Copying other people’s work, or posting something you don’t have the right to share.
- Malware, phishing, and anything designed to trick people or damage their devices.
- Links that mislead readers or lead them somewhere harmful.
- Sexual content involving minors. Never, under any circumstances; we remove it the moment we find it.
Spotted something?
Please tell us. Use the contact page, choose “Flag a post or comment”, and add the link so we can go straight to it.
What happens next
Our moderators can take down posts, profiles or comments that break these rules. When the trouble is serious, or keeps coming back after a nudge, they can also close the blog behind it. We look at the full context before deciding, not one stray word.
House rules get a tidy-up now and then. Whenever that happens, the date at the top of this page moves too.
