Every cozy place needs a few ground rules, and these are ours. We’ve kept the lawyer-speak to a minimum, but they still count: using SnowyPaw means you accept them.
Who’s who
When this page says “SnowyPaw”, “we” or “us”, it means the team that runs the site. “You” covers every visitor, whether you read, leave comments or write a blog. Our house rules and our privacy page count as part of these terms too.
If you read
Read as much as you like, free, with no account. The posts come from independent writers and reflect their own views and experiences, not the SnowyPaw team’s, so please think for yourself before acting on advice you find here.
If you comment
Anyone can join in with just a name. What you write is your responsibility, and posting it lets us display it publicly alongside the post. Each guest comment is reviewed first, and we can turn down or take away any comment.
If you write
Writing here happens by invitation; nobody signs up on their own. If you have an account, guard your sign-in details, and tell us through the contact page if you suspect someone else got in. Anything published from your account is on you.
Your posts belong to you, not to us. Publishing one gives SnowyPaw permission to host, store, display and distribute it (on your blog, on topic pages and in RSS feeds) for as long as it remains on the site, and we use that permission only to run and show SnowyPaw.
Please publish only what you have the right to share, within our house rules. Want a post or your whole blog gone? Ask through the contact page whenever you like. One thing we can’t reach: copies that feed readers have already fetched.
Please don’t
Stick to the house rules and leave the plumbing alone. That means no breaking in, no overloading our servers, no dodging the anti-spam checks and no using someone else’s account.
Links that leave SnowyPaw
Posts and profiles sometimes point to other websites. Other people run those, so their content and how they handle your data aren’t our responsibility.
When we step in
We can take down posts, profiles or comments, or close a blog, if they break these terms or the house rules, or if that’s needed to protect readers, writers or SnowyPaw itself.
“Someone copied my work”
Sorry to hear it. Write to us on the contact page under “Someone copied my work” and tell us which work is yours, link to the post you’re worried about, and say how we can reach you. We’ll look into it and remove anything that infringes.
No guarantees, just effort
We do our best to keep SnowyPaw warm and dependable, but it comes “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties of any kind. We can’t promise it will never go offline, never have a bug, or suit every need, and we don’t fact-check every post. Features may change, the service may pause, and we may stop offering some or all of it.
Limits on liability
As far as the law permits, the SnowyPaw team is not liable for indirect or unexpected losses arising from using SnowyPaw, from being unable to use it, or from what writers and commenters post.
New versions of this page
These terms will be revised now and then, and each revision moves the “last updated” date above. Carrying on with SnowyPaw after a revision means you accept the new version.
Still scratching your head?
Ask away on the contact page. We’d rather explain than have you guess.
